Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-10-25 /Last updated: 2026-10-25
The Japanese version of this policy is the authoritative version. The English version is provided for reference only; in case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.
This Privacy Policy explains how Kirokka (“the Service”) handles user information.
1. About the Operator
The Service is developed and operated by an individual. The operator’s name and address are not published, but we will promptly provide them upon request through the contact channel in Section 10.
2. Information We Collect
To provide and improve the Service, to diagnose issues, and to respond to inquiries, we may collect the following information:
- An anonymous device ID
- The number, type (check / count / memo), and timestamp of records, whether each record was made in the app or from a widget (we do not collect your device’s location), and the number of days with records in the last 7 days
- The number and size of home screen widgets installed
- Your progress through the app’s initial setup (display of each screen, moving on to the next screen, creating a Tracker, completion, the type of template selected (such as “Workout,” “Supplements & supplies,” or “Journal”), and your choice regarding notification permission; this does not include Tracker names)
- The display of, your interactions with, and whether a widget was installed after the widget setup guidance (shown during the initial setup and later within the app)
- When a crash or error occurs: the device model, OS version, the Service’s app version, and technical error information (such as a stack trace)
- Your IP address and browser information when you access this website (including the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages)
- The content you submit through the contact form or by email (including any information you enter, such as your email address)
We use this information to understand the Service’s quality and usage (analytics), to detect and fix issues, and to respond to inquiries. We do not use it for advertising or to track your behavior outside the Service. We do not provide personal information we collect to third parties without your consent, except as required by law or where we entrust its handling to external service providers for the purposes described in Section 4, to the extent necessary to provide and operate the Service. Provision to providers outside Japan is handled as described in Section 4.
3. Information We Do Not Send for Analytics
For analytics purposes, we do not send the following information to our servers or any external analytics service:
- The text content of memos
- The names of Trackers
- The actual values of counts, etc.
However, if we add cloud sync in the future, this data may be stored on our servers for sync purposes (see Section 6, “Where Data Is Stored”). Even then, we will not use this data for analytics purposes.
4. Use of Third-Party Services
The Service uses services provided by external providers for the following purposes, and entrusts them with the handling of information to the extent necessary to provide and operate the Service:
- Usage analytics (of the information in Section 2, the anonymous device ID and information about records, home screen widgets, the app’s initial setup, and the widget setup guidance)
- Detection of app crashes and errors (the device model, OS version, the Service’s app version, and technical error information when a crash or error occurs)
- Delivery of this website (your IP address and browser information at the time of access, which may be processed within the providers’ standard delivery and security features)
- Receiving and responding to inquiries (the content you submit through the contact form or by email, including any information you enter, such as your email address)
The Service is designed not to send any of the data listed in Section 3, “Information We Do Not Send for Analytics,” to the services used for usage analytics and crash and error detection. Due to the nature of network communication, the originating IP address reaches these services when data is sent to them; however, we use them with settings that do not store IP addresses or infer location from them.
We select providers that handle information with a level of protection equal to or greater than that described in this policy, and supervise them as necessary and appropriate so that the entrusted information is managed securely. For receiving inquiries sent by email to support@kirokka.com and for replying to inquiries, we use a service provided by a provider located in Japan. The other providers are located outside Japan, such as in the United States, and your data may be processed on servers in the United States or elsewhere outside Japan.
In accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we handle the provision of personal information to these providers outside Japan as follows:
- Usage analytics, detection of app crashes and errors, and delivery of this website: We take the necessary measures to ensure that these providers continuously implement measures to protect personal information. Upon request through the contact channel in Section 10, we will promptly inform you of the providers’ names, an overview of the personal information protection systems in their countries, an overview of the measures they take, and other matters required by law.
- Receiving inquiries through the contact form: Before you submit the contact form, we will present the name of the country where the provider is located, information on that country’s personal information protection system, and information on the measures the provider takes to protect personal information, and obtain your consent to the provision of your personal information to a third party in a foreign country.
5. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
The Service does not use information for advertising purposes or to track your behavior outside the Service. It therefore does not display an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent prompt. Details of the information collected are described in the app’s Privacy Manifest.
6. Where Data Is Stored
When you are not signed in, your records (memo content, Tracker names, values, etc.) are stored only on your device and are not sent to the operator’s servers.
We plan to add sign-in (Sign in with Apple / Google) and cloud sync in the future. Once implemented, Trackers, records, and account information will be stored on our servers (including services provided by external providers); details such as the storage region will be finalized and reflected in an update to this policy at that time.
7. Export and Deletion of Data
You can export your records to your device in JSON format at any time (the scope of this feature may change as the Service’s features evolve).
Once account features are added, if you choose to delete your account, we will prompt you to export your data beforehand. Deleting your account will delete the data stored on our servers (the handling of local data on your device will be explained separately within the app).
8. Data Retention Periods and Requesting Deletion
We retain the information described in Section 2 for approximately the following periods, after which it is deleted:
- Analytics data (anonymous device ID; the number, type, and timestamp of records and whether each was made in the app or from a widget; the number of days with records in the last 7 days; widget count/size; progress through the app’s initial setup; and the display of, interactions with, and whether a widget was installed after the widget setup guidance) and crash technical information: approximately 13 months from collection
- Your IP address and similar information collected when you access this website: the operator does not retain this information. It may be processed and retained by the provider of the service used to deliver this website for delivery and security purposes (the provider’s name and related details are available upon request as described in Section 4)
- Inquiry content (including your email address): deleted within a reasonable time after the inquiry is resolved
Even within the retention period, you may request deletion through the contact channel in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable time.
When requesting disclosure or deletion of your analytics data, please provide the ID shown in the app under Settings > Data > Analytics ID (the anonymous device ID in Section 2). We will use the ID you provide only to respond to your request.
9. Use by Minors
If you are a minor, please use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
10. Contact
For questions about this policy, or to request disclosure or deletion, please use the form below.
If you do not agree to the provision of your personal information to a third party in a foreign country when submitting the contact form (see Section 4), or if you cannot use the form, please email us at support@kirokka.com instead. Requests for disclosure, deletion, etc. are also accepted at the same address. We do not charge a fee for requests for disclosure, deletion, etc. We may ask you for additional information to verify your identity.
Upon request through the contact channels above, we will promptly inform you of the measures we take for the secure management of personal information.
11. Language Precedence
The Japanese version of this policy is the authoritative version. The English version is provided for reference only; in case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.
12. Changes
This policy may be revised to the extent reasonable in light of the necessity and appropriateness of the change. When we revise it, we will announce the revised content and its effective date by a notice on this website (together with a notification within the Service or other means, as needed) before that effective date, and will replace this policy on this website with the revised version on the effective date. However, minor revisions that do not disadvantage users, such as corrections of errors, may take effect when posted on this website, and such posting will serve as the announcement.
